The bank was a founding member of HSBC Group of Banks now known as HSBC under MSBC. The Hongkong and Shanghai Bank offer high street banking services for commercial banking, private and investment banking. One of the largest banks in the world and the top bank in Hong Kong, it operates worldwide.

HSBC headquarters is based in the Central district of Hong Kong Island. In Chinese culture it is often referred to as the Lion Bank, due to the sculptures outside it’s main building in Hong Kong.

The British headquarters of HSBC Holdings plc is based in London, England. Currently, HSBC is ranked 3rd in the world in terms of assets held.
